Candle Corner #7 - Wickford & Co Strawberry Dream

So the other day I bought two new candles from Home Bargains and I just had to write a on them. Today I want to talk about the fruity candle I bought, Strawberry  Dream. It is from a brand that I have never heard/come across called Wickford & Co and only cost 49p!

It smells incredible and not like artificial strawberries, which I really like. It is also a perfect summer scent and reminds me of strawberry picking when I was little.

Have you ever tried a Wickford & Co candle?

My Love for Daily Vloggers

If there is one group on YouTube I love the most is daily vloggers. Forget the beauty, fashion and lifestyle vloggers, daily vloggers are my favourite. So I thought I would share my reasons why and tell you which ones I love the most.

I may sound a little nosy, but I love seeing other people's lives and how they live/what they get up to day to day. Also, it gives me something to watch everyday when I am bored. When I watch people's vlogs, it cheers me up and makes me laugh because all of my favourites have young children that say the funniest things.

I only have three favourite daily vloggers but I thought I would still share them with you.

1) SacconeJolys - I did a whole blog post months ago dedicated to my love for them that you can see here. They are by far my all time favourite vloggers.

2) Daily Bumps -  They are essentially the American version of the SacconeJolys.

3) Shaytards -  I have been watching them for just over two years and I am sad to say that they aren't my most favourite. I just don't find them that entertaining anymore and don't sit at my computer refreshing my subscription page at 6pm waiting for their video to pop up. (sadly enough I d that with the SacconeJolys and Daily Bumps)

Do you like daily vlogger? Which ones?

Where to get blog post inspiration?

At times blogging, whether it be full time or part time, can be really hard as you can quickly run out of unique blog post ideas. Over the past year and a bit I have collected some great tips on how to get blogging inspiration and where to get it from, so I thought I would share it with you.

Magazines - These are great way to get inspiration as there are many different genres of magazines from fashion and beauty to fitness and food. This way, you are covered no matter what your blog genre is. Also, some magazines give samples and little freebies which is a great advantage as you can review them.

The Public - The general public are a great way to get inspiration as you can look at what items of clothing they are wearing or what make up they have on. Also, if people on the streets are annoying you, write a post about it. Let your criticism and opinionated writing flow from your head to the computer screen.

Bloglovin' - I presume you are all familiar with the website. It is essentially a website where you can follow blogs or bloggers and find new blog to read. I find that this website is great as the explore section of the website, allows you to go through posts of a genre of your choosing and read them. You can also save posts, so if you see a recipe you like then you can save it for later.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Goodbye Secondary School, Hello College

I am coming to the last months of my final year at school. This means that my stress levels and anxiousness is at the max. However, I can't wait to leave school and start my college life.

I am looking forward to college so much as you have a sense of freedom to do and study what ever you want. It also puts you one step closer to your chosen career and adulthood. At college you have a lot more options as to what to study, from sociology to history to art, where as at school you have the academic lessons like maths and subjects like technology. Even though I love those subjects, I want to finish doing them and move onto something I want to do. You also have many different qualification options from BTECs to A Levels to Extended Diplomas. You can pick what is write for you, more exam based qualifications (A Levels) or more coursework and practical qualifications (BTECs or Extended Diplomas).

With college you also get a lot more respect and slack from the tutors/teachers. You don't feel as if you have a day off, it is the end of the world and you are immediately going to fail, that is what secondary school was like for me.

What was your secondary school life like?

The Disney Tag

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved Disney. I would sit and watch all the movies on repeat every single day. That love has grown up with me and I don't think going to Disney World three times helped one bit.
Since I have a love for Disney, I thought I would do the Disney tag.

Taking Advantage of a 3 for 2

A couple of days a go I ventured into Superdrug wanting to buy a new tube of my favourite mascara and noticed that every cosmetic item was on 3 for 2, so obviously I needed to take advantage of that offer. So, as originally planned, I bought the Collection Fat Lash Mascara, but then bought a new kohl liner because I "need" one and a new Barry M Gelly Nail Paint.

The mascara is great as it has a bristle brush instead of a plastic one so it brabs the lashes as lengthens and adds volume perfectly and even. It also comes in three shades , brown/black, black and ultra black, so there is a shade to suit everyone.

The kohl is the Collection Lasting Colour Eye Definer in black, but they also do a variety of colours. The packaging is amazing because it is sleek and it also has a twist up feature a pose to a pencil where you would need to sharpen it.

The new nail paint is in the shade Cardamon which is a beautiful muted mossy green. I spent about twenty minutes at the Barry M stand trying to pick out a shade I wanted but I finally settled on this shade as it is nothing like what I already have in my collection. Also, I thought it would be great for Spring as well as the Autumn and Winter time. I also really like this formula of nail paint from Barry M as it is really thick and glossy.

What would you buy with the 3 for 2 offer?

My Lush Collection

I was never one for posh baths with bubble bars and bath bombs, I used to just chuck in a bit of bubble bath and be done with it. However, since my trip to Leeds back in November time I have been in love with Lush bath products. Even though it isn't a truck load, yet, I thought I would share my sufficiently small collect with you.

First is The Comforter Bubble  Bar - £4.75
This bubble bar is a little pricey, however you can get multiple uses out of it by breaking it up into pieces like I have. With a bubble bar you crumble it or swirl it under running water to create beautiful and big bubbles of scent. The Comforter is packed with Bergamot oil, Cassis absolute and Cypress oil, but even though they are quite herbally it doesn't smell it. The scent, to me, is quite fruity and very berry.

Next is the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar - £2.75
This bubble bar is totally different to The Comforter as it has cocoa butter in it, so it is a moisturising bubble bar rather than an ordinary bubble bar. The scent of this is very sweet because of the cocoa butter, vanilla absolute and almond oil and is very hydrating. However, I have found that it is hard to crumble under running water because of the chunks of cocoa butter.

Thirdly is the Butter Bear Bath Bomb - £1.95
This bath bomb is part of the Christmas collection so you are unable to get it. I bought two around November time last year and have already used one. If you want to use it multiple times, I would suggest breaking it up into little pieces because it fizzes away very quickly. The ingredients in this are cocoa butter and Ylang Ylang oil, so this bath bomb is perfect for the skin.

Fourth in my collection is the Butterball Bath Bomb - £2.65
This is the exact same as the Butter Bear but is the original ball shaped version. Also, this is part of the permanent range at Lush. It has the same chocolatey/vanilla scent and is very softening and hydrating on the skin.

Next is the Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb - £1.95
This is the cheapest bath product from Lush but is equally as good as the mos expensive bath bomb. It is a very relaxing scent with Lavender oil and Chamomile Blue oil. This perfect if you are stressed and need a little perking up or if you are in need of some relaxing because it is very calming.

What is in your Lush collection? What is your favourite Lush product?

Work Experience

Recently I have reminiscing about my work experience I did this time last year and how much I actually enjoyed it. This gave me the idea to share with you my work experience and give my opinion on the topic.
Work experience is when students in Year 10 go off timetable for two weeks and go to work at a business of their choice.

For starters, I did my work experience in a Premier Inn hotel in the city I live in. I was a bit skeptical because it wasn't something I was remotely interested in and I didn't even want to do it. However, it was the best out of the bunch we got given as choices.
At the interview I were given the ins and outs of the company and what I would be doing on our two weeks of work. In total there were seven of us from my school, so we got split up to work at the three Premier Inns that are in the city. Unluckily, I got the one which was furthest away which meant an hour and fifteen minutes bus ride everyday for two weeks.
I wasn't that both actually because it gave me a chance to experience independence and to see what life is going to be like when I start working in the future.

For the first two days I was working on reception which meant checking people in and out, greeting people, letting people into the car park and doing general admin work. This was one of my favourite job roles I was given as it gave me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and talk to guests. On day 1 I worked with a guy called Tony who I got on with like a house on fire, which made my first day less overwhelming. For the first day I checked in a guest started to learn the ropes. On day 2 I worked with a lovely lady called Aimee who, again, made the whole first few days a lot more bearable. There wasn't a lot for me to do so Aimee let me create posters for the GOSH, Great Ormond Street Hospital, fundraiser. I really liked this task as it allowed me to be creative and work with a computer. I also got to delivery some towels to a guest. Ooooh how exciting!

On day 3 I was put in house keeping with a woman called Hayley, which I wasn't looking forward to as I struggle to make my own bed let alone someone else's.But, I got on with it and persevered which was a bonus because we finished early! I didn't enjoy house keeping as much as it made me feel drained and exhausted.

For day 4 I was in food and beverage with a hilarious guy called Neville. Like in reception, he taught me the ropes on how to lay the tables, what foods go where and how to clean the coffee maker. On day 5 I was still in food and beverage but with a lovely girl called Emma. Emma was, without a doubt, one of the funniest people I worked with and was one of the reasons why I loved food and beverage the most.
Day 6 and 7 I was still on food and beverage which didn't bother me as I liked being in the restaurant.

Day 8 I was doing public areas which meant that I would spend the day hoovering and cleaning hallways, the lift lobbys and stairs. Again, I didn't mind doing this because it was on my own which meant I could take as long as I want and get the job done. Also, it was something different to working in the restaurant or sitting behind a desk.

Day 9 and 10 I was back on reception but didn't have much to do other than sit on the system training. Even though they were quite boring, I really liked them because they were really calm and chilled which was perfect for my last two days.

In my opinion, work experience is definitely worth it because it gives you the experience of a typical work day in that career. Also, it looks great on your CV and let's you meet new people. Furthermore, it gives you an idea of what that career you have chosen would be like, if you were to do it as a full time job.

Did you do work experience? Where did you do work experience?

Candle Corner #6 - Primark Cinnamon and Maple

This is the sixth installment of Candle Corner and I have to say, I'm loving this little series. They are so easy to take photos for, to edit, draft, re-draft and then publish. I might start some more blog series on here.

For this post I am going to talk about the Primark Cinnamon and Maple Small Jar Candle. Firstly, I know it is a Christmas scent but, I love it! Also, to say it is cinnamon, it isn't that Christmassy smelling.

In my opinion, this candle is an amazing value for money as it is the same quality as a Yankee Candle but for a massive fraction of the price as Yankee Small Jars are around £6 and this little beauty was only 80p!

Have you tried the Primark candles? What is your opinion?

A Pop of Colour for Spring

Today I wanted to show you how you can add a pop of colour to your outfit, without looking like a walking rainbow, but by adding a bit of colour to your nails.
I decided not to go to full on with nails as it would let me have a chance to wear a coloured item of clothing, so I chose Chai (a mid-toned grey) and Prickly Pear (a pastel purple lilac).

On every nail a part from my ring fingers I painted with Chai and then the ring fingers, to act as an accent nail, I painted with Prickly Pear. I think they work really well together as it is a mix of dull and boring with a hint of pizzazz. Also, the Gelly formula of the nail paints is amazing as it feels like I have had a manicure instead of doing it myself.

What Gelly Nail Paints do you recommend?

New Additions to My Nail Polish Collection

A few days ago I went shopping with a friend and took advantage of the Boots 3 for 2 offer by buying three new nail polishes. All three are from my favourite nail polish  brand, Barry M, which I love so much that I dedicated a whole post to my collection of them which you can read here.

For a while I have been wanting to try out the Gelly range of nail paints Barry M has to offer because, if they are anything like the normal range, I think I will love them. I firstly picked Chai which is a gorgeous taupe/grey shade which, even though it isn't a pastel or bright, I think it will look great for Spring.
Along with that, I bought Prickly Pear which is a stunning bright pastel (a little contradictory) lilac. Again, it is from the Gelly range so I would expect it to be long wearing, thick and for it to not chip two days after application.
I also bought the shade Matt White from the regular range because I don't own a white nail polish and I couldn't ignore the 3 for 2 offer.
