It's The Little Things Book Review

I bought this book at the start of this year mainly because I love this author's books and think they are amazing no matter what the story line is.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would definitely say it is one of my favourites (comment if you want to see my book favourites). One reason I enjoyed this book was because it wasn't just a love story between two people. The book is about four people's lives; Sally and Dan who are married with a son, Chloe who is their best friend and Seth who is the 'hottie' at Chloe's gym. I liked how the book was different to anything I have read before but it was still similar to some other Erica James books I have read.

At times the book was kind of predictable between Sally and Dan, but then it kept me guessing at the parts about Seth and Chloe. On occasions the book made me cry (mainly towards the end) and laugh which is partly why I loved the book. If I read a book and I didn't feel any kind of emotion, then I know it wasn't the right book for me.

Have you read any Erica James books?

Small Collective Haul - Books, Candles & Make-Up

How Hard Can Love Be? By Holly Bourne £7.99
"All Amber wants is a little bit of love. Her mum has never been the caring type, even before she moved to America. But Amber's hip that spending the summer with her can change all that. And then there's Prom King Kyle, the serial heartbreaker. Can Amber really be falling for him? Even with best friends Evie and Lottie's advice, there's no escaping the fact: love is hard."

How To Build A Girl By Caitlin Moran £8.99
"My name is Johanna Morrigan. I'm fourteen and I've just decided to kill myself. I don't really want to die, of course! I just need to kill the old me, and build a new girl. Dolly Wilde will be everything I want to be, and more! But as with all the best coming-of-age stories, it doesn't exactly go to plan."

All The Bright Places By Jennifer Niven £7.99
" Theodore Finch wants to take his own life. Violet Markey is devastated by her sister's death. They meet on the ledge of the school bell tower, and so their story begins. It's only together they can be themselves... But, as Violet's world grows, Finch's begins to shrink. How far will Violet go to save the boy she has come to love?"

How To Be A Woman By Caitlin Moran £8.99
"It's a good time to be a woman: we have the vote and the Pill, and we haven't been burnt as witches since 1727. However a few nagging questions do remain... Whay are we supposed to get Brazilians? Should we use Botox? Do men secretly hate us? And why does everyone ask you when you're going to have a baby?"

Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne £7.99
"All Evie wants is to be normal. And now that she's almost off her meds and at a new college where no one knows her as the-girl-who-went-nuts, there's only one thing to tick off her list... But relationships can mess with anyone's head - something Evie's new friends Amber and Lottie know only too well. The trouble is, if Evie won't tell them her secrets, how can they stop her making a huge mistake?

A few weeks ago I decided to take a trip to town to initially pick up two Primark candles that I have wanted for a while/wanted to repurchase.  That trip to one shop soon ended up in a little shopping spree and caused me to pick up a few more things. So I thought I would do a small haul post.

I ended up getting two packets of Primark tealights, £1.30 each, in the scents Sea Salt & Lavender and White Tea & Peony, and then a small jar, £1, in the scent Summer Rain & Forest Berries. I originally went for a small jar of the white tea & peony scent and another scent, but they only had tealights in one and then nothing in the other.

I also went on the hunt in Boots and Superdrug for the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer, which I am unable to find in Sheffield.  But they didn't stock it in either of the shops I went into, so I picked up the Barry M Original Flawless Primer whilst in Superdrug. I had already looked up this primer and read multiple reviews for it which all said that it was great. Since it was 3 for 2 on all cosmetics, I bought two of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos in Creamy Beige and On and on Bronze. I already own Creamy Beige but needed to repurchase it, and since it was 3 for 2 I picked up On and on Bronze because the swatch I did on the back of my hand looked gorgeous. At Superdrug if you bought 3 cosmetics you also got a free mint green make-up bag with #nofilterneeded written across in peach. I already have the other version of this make-up bag (black bag with makeup written in hot pink) and love it and use it for my little mini cosmetics for college, so I was happy to get another.

Finally, I went to Waterstones and did a little damage to my bank account. I ended up buying four books, but they were on offer so that justifies it. I originally wanted Caitlin Moran's How To Build A Girl and How To Be A Woman, which I picked up, but then saw two books that two of my friends have read and love so I got those two. So in total I picked up the two Caitlin Moran books and How Hard Can Love Be? by Holly Bourne, and All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. During that week I went back to Waterstones to pick up another book, Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne, because it was the first in the series that I bought the second book of. I am super excited to getting reading these books as all my friends rave about them so much.

What have you bought recently?

Four Book Review

At the start of the year I bought this book off Amazon. I really wanted it and was super excited to read it because I love the Divergent series (book and film) and this is the novella to the series, and it didn't disappoint.

I really liked how you got to see before the first book (Divergent) was set and during the first book through Four/Tobias' eyes because the three main books are written from Tris' perspective. Also, I liked how you got to know Four more than in the book series. Furthermore, I loved how the books wasn't Divergent retold from another character's perspective, it was snippets of the first book and before the first book was set.

Have you read the Divergent series? Have you read this book?

New To My Collection

In my February half term, I went on  a mad shopping trip and picked up these two beauties. I am in no need of new nail polishes, but I am a sucker for pretty colours and for Collection's nail polishes. I absolutely love the nail polishes and can safely say they are one of my favourite brands for nail polishes.

I picked up the colours Suede, a mauve/pink/brown nude, and Stone Grey, a baby blue with a little grey in it. I thought they would be great for spring/summer and I don't have any polishes like these, so I was happy to add them to my collection.

I find that this brand of polishes is easy to apply as it has a wide brush, and that it dries super quick. Also, I find that it they last quite long, so I knew when I was looking for colours for sprig/summer, that Collection would definitely be worth a look.

These polishes are absolutely amazing for the price tag, £1.99, so it I was you, I would go to my nearest Superdrug or Boots, and pick some up. They have an incredible colour range, so there is something for everyone.

Have you tried the Collection nail polishes?
